Tony Fleming once confided that he had our waters in mind when he conceived the Fleming design. And since the initial launch in 1986 as the Serious Cruising Yacht, the reputation has grown world wide as the finest cruising yacht in her class. The model maintains her traditional lines today, and has evolved through continual refinement by a builder whose mission statement is to constantly extend the firm’s collective knowledge and with each hull, “build the best boat we know how”, always striving towards the Ultimate Cruising Yacht.
This is the perfect opportunity to acquire such a vessel. This beautiful Fleming 55 Pilothouse is turnkey with up to date service, and requires only a new owner for her next voyage. She has been outfitted to enable comfortable, extended cruising or live-aboard.
The low profile, pilothouse design is widely accepted as the most attractive timeless classics in the yachting world.
The Fleming 55 is a three-stateroom / two head yacht with a broad cockpit, an inviting salon, a refreshingly large and functional galley, a separate pilothouse, and a flybridge with direct access.
Patricia Ann has been lightly cruised and professionally cared for.
The companionway leads down from the salon and galley area directly to the accommodations area. This purposeful design allows for a lower centre of gravity, and eliminates the need for guests to transmit the pilothouse to access the staterooms and heads. The master cabin is forward, with a VIP cabin to port and a guest bunk cabin to starboard. There is an ensuite head to the master cabin, and the two guest cabins share a second head. This arrangement also gives day guests access to the head without the need to enter a sleeping cabin, keeping those areas private. The area features:
Master Cabin
Forward is the master cabin featuring the centre line queen berth, extensive lockers and drawers, and a generous ensuite head with shower stall. The builder made changes to the lockers beside the berth to ease access and upgraded the finish below the lockers to teak. The upper areas are trimmed in teak to enrich the cabin. A bookshelf is fitted around the hull, port and starboard. Other features include:
Ensuite Head
VIP Guest Cabin
Aft of the master, to the port side, is the VIP Guest cabin. It is the standard Fleming set up with twin beds, plus the optional upper bunk that slides in and out of position as needed, to accommodate the differing needs of guests. Also throughout finished in teak and teak trim with a bedside table. Note the large hanging locker, and numerous drawers. Other features:
Starboard Guest Cabin
The starboard guest cabin is the standard Fleming arrangement and has a lower berth with night vanity, and pull out upper berth, with lockers and
Guest / Day Head
The guest / day head is across from the guest cabin. It is tried in teak, spacious, well lit and ventilated with excellent storage and a separate shower stall.
From the spacious aft deck, which seems to flow out of the salon, enter double sliding doors into the sumptuous and richly furnished salon, with bar and wine bar to port, a generous L-settee forward to the galley. Note the Fleming table, which drops down and out from the settee to form a coffee table. The optional built in cabinetry across from the settee features abundant storage and an entertainment centre. Extras include:
The galley is forward of the salon, and is the full width of the yacht with abundant preparation and storage space. The U-shaped work area to port Is efficient with exceptional storage. To starboard a full size double door refrigerator / freezer and a teak cabinet for galley ware. Note the following:
Accessed from the galley / salon by a short companionway, with side doors to each side deck and stairs to the flybridge, the pilothouse is a superbly designed space to command the ship, entertain underway, enjoy a breakfast at table in an anchorage, and to plan the next days adventure. The port and starboard doors to the side decks are a hallmark feature pilothouse for visibility, and safe access to the foredeck.
Features include:
The flybridge is spacious and exceptionally comfortable, with excellent running visibility from the double helm seat. The space is made more sumptuous with the subtle fabrics. The canvas work includes overhead bimini, covers for helm, seat, table, settees and dinghy. Heavy stainless steel frames for bimini. Note:
The cockpit is spacious yet intimate to the ocean around, and, like all outside spaces on the Fleming 55, safe and secure. The teak caprail, clear of any fittings, is broad and extends to the caprails leading forward. Multiple coats of varnish gleam. The cockpit is accessed by the wide, fiberglass swimgrid, with stainless steel handrails for better footing, through the generous transom gate. Note the side gates for ease of access to each side deck or for stepping to the dock to secure a breast line. Forward, the foredeck features yet more:
Aft of the flybridge is the working area, which carries the dinghy, optional liferaft, and davit system, with ladder access to and from the cockpit.
The navigation systems and electronics were chosen and laid out for ease of use, redundancy of system, and dependable operation. The core system is Furuno, with extensive service facilities on our coast, and was designed and installed by Delta Marine Service:

The Fleming electrical system is known to be a robust design, complex in layout but remarkably friendly to use.
110VAC and AC220V and 24VDC panels, with circuit protection, are located in the pilothouse. Part of the AC panel is devoted to light loads which can be powered by the inverter. AC power is provided by shore connection, by either of two generators, and by battery through the inverter. DC power is provided by banks of batteries.
Note that the engine start banks also service the thrusters, one bank to each thruster.
Note also that the AC system includes isolation transformers. There is one AC inlet at the bow, and one at the stern.
The battery charge sources are: Heavy duty alternators on the engines of 240 Amp 24V each when one or both engines are running, the charge side of the inverter, being 140 Amps when shore power or genset power is available. There is an alternator on the genset to charge the genset start battery.
Motive power is by twin venerable Caterpillar 3208 TA diesel engines at 435 hp each. Approximately 2,490 hours. The engines are fresh water cooled through heat exchangers with CAT air filters on intakes and coolant recovery tanks. The engines have been serviced by Delta Marine Service.
